ZF has introduced a new TRW DTEC brake pad and disc portfolio designed to help vehicle manufacturers and suppliers prepare for forthcoming Euro 7 particulate emissions limits. Dynamometer testing has shown reductions in PM10 brake dust emissions of up to 80% compared with conventional friction materials, positioning the range as a low-emission alternative for both OE and aftermarket applications.

The launch reflects growing pressure across the braking industry to address non-exhaust particulate emissions, an area of increasing regulatory focus alongside traditional exhaust standards. For European importers and distributors, low-emission friction technology is likely to become a key differentiator as Euro 7 requirements approach, making early engagement with compliant product ranges commercially relevant.

As Euro 7 implementation timelines firm up, manufacturers offering verified low-PM10 performance data may gain an advantage in tenders and OE sourcing decisions. Distributors should monitor how such certified low-emission ranges are positioned relative to existing friction material portfolios in their markets.
