Such variation within a single model line illustrates a broader challenge for parts suppliers and workshops: identical badges can conceal significant differences in caliper design, disc sizing and hydraulic layout. For distributors and quality managers sourcing aftermarket components, this reinforces the need for precise vehicle and trim-level identification before parts are matched, tested or certified, particularly where cross-market sourcing or private-label ranges are involved.
While the Dodge Hornet is a North American model, the underlying lesson applies globally: trim-specific brake engineering is increasingly common as manufacturers tailor performance characteristics within a single nameplate, making accurate technical data essential to avoiding misapplication in the IAM supply chain.
