Aston Martin Victor
Aston Martin Victor.

This mighty British street racing machine is the new Aston Martin Victor, a one-off super car based on the platform of the Aston Martin One-77. The brilliantly outrageous design of the Victor was inspired by the Aston Martin DBS RHAM/1 racing cars of the 1970s. The Victor is named after Victor Gauntlett, an English businessman who saved the Aston Martin brand when it was in trouble in the early 1980’s. The Aston Martin Victor was ordered by a wealthy and anonymous customer from Belgium, who reportedly pad more than 3 million euro for the pleasure of owning the unique street-legal monster.

The Victor stands on an extended variant of the chassis of the Aston Martin Aston Martin One-77, while using the suspension and exhaust system of the track-only Aston Martin Vulcan. The entire body is made from carbon fiber, and the company claims a total curb weight of 1600 kilo. Power comes from a naturally aspirated Coshworth 7.3 liter V12 engine. This unit was originally developed and built for the One-77, but heavily reworked for the Vulcan. Output is a manic 847 horsepower and 820 Nm of torque. Gearbox a twin-cooled six-speed manual, sourced from Italian specialist Graziano Transmissioni, sending every horse to the rear wheels. With that, the Victor sprints from 0-100 in less than three seconds and on to a top speed of over 320 kilometers per hour.

The Aston Martin Victor rides on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires with centerlock wheels. The brakes are floating Brembo CMM-R carbon ceramic drilled discs, initially developed for racing cars. These brake discs are ultra light with relatively low operating temperature and a long durability. The front brake discs have a diameter of 380 mm and a width of 34 mm. At the rear, diameter of the brake discs is 340 mm and width is 32 mm. Each brake is engaged by six-piston brake calipers, front and rear.

The Victor was built under the company’s Q by Aston Martin program, a one-off commission scheme comparable to Ferrari’s Portfolio Coachbuilding Programme. ‘Q’ is said to be working on several new projects, including an electric hyper car which will be unveiled in 2021. But for now, the Vulcan is the most extreme car the program has developed.
